St Michael’s Catholic School is situated in the Western Suburbs of Rotorua.  Traditionally we serve the communities in Western Heights, Pukehangi, Mamaku, Ngongotaha, Kaharoa and Kawaha Point.

St Michael’s Catholic School’s Mission statement is “To provide a sound, balanced education in a Catholic environment – Kia ū ai te matauranga i rotor i ngā tikanga o te Hahi Kātorika”.

Our Mission Statement empowers the staff to provide an education that is Catholic and that extends and empowers the learning of the children.  We have high expectations of academic success.  We have extensive resources to ensure that your children’s academic, social and spiritual needs are met in a warm and supportive environment.

As an integrated school, St Michael’s Catholic School accepts enrolments from both children who are Catholic and non-Catholic.   To obtain a preference card please phone Andrea at our parish office ( St Mary’s Church) - 3480 289 to make an appointment. 

The Gospel’s show how important it is to ensure that children receive an education that allows for Christian growth.  We have a close association with the Catholic Pastoral Area of Rotorua and the Catholic Diocese of Hamilton.

In 2012 we made significant progress in student achievement with the majority of our students reaching at/above the National Standard for reaching writing and mathematics.

Our main focus for 2013 is lifting achievement school wide our students quality of writing so that even more student achieve at / above the National Standard.

Some of our staff are attending courses in Papamoa to learn how to integrate ipads into learning inthe classrooms.  This is a very exciting journey for all at St Michaels.
