Grandparents' Day Mass and Morning Tea - Tuesday, 25th July: On Tuesday, 25th July, we will be celebrating Grandparents' Day with a special Mass followed by time in classrooms and a morning tea. This is a wonderful opportunity for our students to honor and appreciate their grandparents. We warmly invite all grandparents to join us for this special occasion. Please ensure they are aware of the date and encourage them to attend.
Faithbased Kahui Ako Ahurei - Wednesday, 26th July: We are excited to announce that on Wednesday, 26th July, our Kapa Haka Roopu will be participating in our Kahui Ako Ahurei at Aquinas College in Tauranga. We encourage parents to come and support their children during this event.
Early Finish at 12pm - Wednesday, 16th August: Please be advised that on Wednesday, 16th August, school will be closing at 12pm for all students. This early finish is to accommodate for Catholic Character PLD for our teachers. We appreciate your understanding and support in allowing our staff to enhance their skills in promoting our school's Catholic character.

Nga Korero o Te Kura education programme:
In week 7 and 8 classes will be attending the Nga Korero o Te Kura education programme. This programme is aimed at uncovering the fascinating history of the area in which our school is situated, delving into the past and exploring the stories, people, and events that have shaped our school community. With the guidance of the knowledgeable museum education team, our students will have the opportunity to engage with taonga, landmarks, maps, objects, and photographs that hold the key to unlocking the rich tapestry of our school's history. Through interactive sessions, we will unravel the mysteries of our schools past, shedding light on the significant moments and individuals that have contributed to the evolution of our community.
These are just a few of the upcoming events and important dates for Term 3.
Thank you for your continued support and involvement in the life of our school. Together, we can make this term a successful and memorable one for our students.

Have a great week whanau,

Health and Safety
Covid is still about in our community. Please continue to keep your child home if they have flu or cold-like symptoms. The school has covid tests if you require them.
Important Note: If your child has asthma, it is crucial to ensure they have access to an inhaler at all times. For the safety and convenience of younger children, an inhaler should be kept in their classroom with their classroom teacher, while older children should carry their inhalers in their bags.

Absence Notification Procedure
If your child is going to be absent from school for any reason, we kindly ask that you follow one of the two options for notifying us:
- School App: Please use the school app to report your child's absence. You can find a dedicated section within the app where you can provide the necessary details about the absence.
- Call the Office: Alternatively, you can call the school office directly to inform us about your child's absence
It is crucial that you use one of these official channels to report absences. While we understand that some parents may prefer to privately message the teachers on Seesaw, there is a possibility that the message may not reach the teacher promptly or that they may be away, resulting in a delay in recording the absence.
By following the official absence notification procedure, you help us ensure the safety and well-being of your child. It also helps us keep accurate attendance records and enables us to respond quickly in case of any emergency.
School Resources
We kindly request your help in locating and returning any school journals, library books, or sports uniforms that might still be at home. Please have your child bring these items back to school and hand them to their respective teachers. Thank you for your cooperation in ensuring our school resources are accounted for. We appreciate your support in providing an excellent educational experience for all our students.
