St Michael’s Catholic Primary School is located in the suburb of Western Heights at the base of Mount Ngongotaha in Rotorua. The school has a rich history and is committed to providing a Catholic education for children aged 5-12 (years 1-6).
The curriculum at St Michael’s School is based on both the New Zealand Curriculum and Tō Tātou Whakapono – Our Faith, the Religious Education Curriculum for Catholic Schools in Aotearoa, New Zealand.
The school’s vision, principles, and values are integrated into all aspects of the learning environment and culture.

If you are aware of families who wish to enrol their non-Catholic children at St. Michael’s for the next term, kindly inform Cristy at the school office and collect an enrolment pack. We particularly welcome families of students in year 1 – 3 who are receptive to our Christian beliefs and values.
We are looking for property maintenance services to do some work around our school during the upcoming break. Can anyone suggest a handyman?

Cultural Responsiveness: Parent Voice

To better understand our progress in achieving cultural responsiveness, we seek to engage whanau and gather their valuable perspectives. Your input will be instrumental in shaping our efforts and ensuring that our school environment continues to thrive in embracing diverse cultural backgrounds.
On Tuesday 15 August we invite parents/ whanau to have their say. Come and enjoy a coffee and a chat in the staffroom at 2:30pm.

This is a wonderful opportunity for our students to honour and appreciate their grandparents. We warmly invite all grandparents to join us for this special occasion.

Mass will be in our school hall at 9:15am followed by a performance from our Kapa Haka Roopu and time in classrooms. Grandparents will be invited into the staffroom for morning tea at 11am.
Faithbased Kahui Ako Ahurei – Wednesday 26 July at Aquinas College in Tauranga.
The children will be leaving from JPC at 7:45am and will return back to school at approx 3:30pm. A notice has been set home with all the details of the day. Parents are welcome to travel over to Tauranga to watch. Our performance will be at 1:05pm.
