St Michael's Catholic School has a strong history here in Rotorua. We sit proudly at the foot of our great mountain Ngongotaha. Our families are hard working and committed people who strive to raise children who are resilient, connected and proud to be New Zealanders.
Students at St Michael's School are known for their perseverance, strength and adaptability. St Michael's is categorised as a decile 4 school.
The school's special character is promoted through regular instruction in religious and moral education and is integrated into all aspects of the school's programmes, environment and culture. Regular participation in church worship and liturgies is aimed at a level appropriate to the children.
Our school caters to children from 5 - 12 years of age (years 1-6). Our teachers design learning which utilises the whole of the school environment. Our school boasts a large hall, two large playing fields, adventure playgrounds, netball and basketball courts, vegetable gardens, library and flexible learning spaces. The school offers a wide range of summer and winter sport options.
All learners will work as part of a collaborative, Christ-like community. All learning will be underpinned by our special Catholic character. Each learner's unique passions, talents and skills will be celebrated. EVERY learner will have the opportunity to strive for excellence. St Michael's School will be a safe and sustainable environment where learning is FUN.
