PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Tēnā koutou kātoa e te whānau,
As we come to the end of another year at St Michael’s, we pause to acknowledge two very special farewells within our school community.
To our Year 6 students, we are incredibly proud of the young people you have become. You leave us with strong values, growing faith, and a deep sense of who you are. As you head off to intermediate, carry with you the spirit of St Michael’s, serve others, act with tika, show aroha, and always treat people with respect. Remember, you will always have a place here, and we look forward to watching you continue to grow and shine.
We also farewell Shayla O'Neill, who has been a deeply valued and respected leader within our school. Her commitment to children, her support of staff, and her relational approach to leadership have made a lasting impact on our community. Shayla leaves St Michael’s stronger for having been part of it, and while we will miss her greatly, we wish her every blessing as she begins this new journey.
To all our whānau and staff, thank you for your support, trust, and partnership throughout the year. As we move into the Christmas season, we wish you a very Merry Christmas filled with peace, joy, and time with loved ones.
We also wish everyone a safe and restful summer break, and we look forward to welcoming you back in the new year.
May God bless you and keep you over the holidays.
We look forward to another amazing year in 2026 at the best little school in Rotorua!

Blue Lake Trip
Our end-of-year school trip to the lake was a wonderful way to finish the year. Although the weather was a little cooler than the days before, it didn’t dampen the fun, with students eagerly heading in for a paddle and enjoying time together outdoors.

Eden 6 Thank You & Help Needed
A huge well done to our Eden 6 tamariki for their amazing mahi in the garden — from releasing weeds to caring for their “plant babies,” they’ve shown fantastic effort and pride in their work!
We’re also looking for a few helping hands next term. Even an hour or two, at a time that suits you, would make a big difference as we continue spreading mulch (so Whaea
Adrienne doesn’t have to do it all herself! 😄). No mega muscles needed — just enthusiasm and a willingness to help.
If you’re able to lend a hand, please let the office know.

PTA News

Thank You for Your Support
As we approach the end of the year, the PTA would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported us throughout 2025. Whether you volunteered, donated, or attended our events, your contribution has helped make each one a success — we truly couldn’t have done it without you.
We’re excited for another great year ahead in 2026 and hope to see many of you involved.
How You Can Help… There’s no obligation to join or commit — we welcome whatever fits into your busy life. Come along to a meeting next year and meet a wonderful group of parents and grandparents. You can help in many ways, such as:
-
Selling gifts at our Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, or Christmas stalls
-
Providing baking when needed
-
Helping at events or on the BBQ
-
Donating vouchers for fundraising
-
Sharing fundraising ideas — we’re always keen for new options
If you’re considering joining the PTA, we’d love to have you on board. All are welcome.
Have a blessed Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
